OpenDo is "the way of personal security and self-defense" developed by Dr. Rob Higgins that guides you to defend against threats from three main sources: The environment, other people, and one's self.
OpenDo involves the use of mixed martial arts styles and techniques to help people defend against attacks from other people. Fitness is the foundation of our defenses and security in all dimensions of our lives.
Basic techniques and training styles of OpenDo are derived from Taekwondo. Taekwondo is the Korean martial art of self-defense that emphasizes quick and powerful foot and hand strikes. Additional techniques for self-defense are drawn from a mix of martial arts (MMA) such as Okichitaw, jiu-jitsu, hapkido, muay thai, and kickboxing.

YOU CAN DO IT ! . . . the following is a quote from the works of Dr. Rob Higgins A modern view of Martial Arts should reflect a program of fitness health conducted in the context of self-defense. It comprises a life-long program of fitness, awareness, and preparedness. If we are Warriors, our battle is against those forces in society that obstruct a healthy lifestyle, block awareness, and limit our preparedness. Martial Arts should be integrated with every person's life; it should be accessible financially, and accessible physically. The location for the learning and practice of Martial Arts should be wherever you are: your home, your school or workplace, your park, your community centers; and whenever you can, you should !
